Exodus 31:3:

"I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with wisdom, understanding, knowledge and all kinds of skills."

My name is Xavier Everson, and I am a creator.

I've always believed that we, as people, are all creators, but we express that creativity in different ways. Some of my creative outlets include sports, prayer, how I live my life, how I interact with others, painting, and more. These outlets are interconnected; often, one inspires another or works in harmony with it. My paintings are a prime example of this, as they reflect my life experiences and inspirations through color.

If there is anything I can do with the gifts God has given me, it is to inspire the world to be better through my work, just as I have been inspired by those who came before me. Artists like Pablo Picasso, Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol, Alec Monopoly, Kehinde Wiley, and even God himself have had significant impacts on my life, especially artistically. These legendary figures have created works that are bold, magnificent, timeless, and even destructive, yet still majestic—pieces that endure through time. This is why I refuse to be boxed in; my art reflects influences from each of these artists. I draw inspiration from all styles, and I have a deep love for color.

I began drawing and painting in high school. Although I enjoyed creating art from an early age, it wasn’t until college, as semi-professional basketball became a memory, that I began to take my art more seriously. I transferred the discipline and attention to detail I had developed in sports to my art. It became my new passion, one that I love to practice.

Fast forward to the present: I now have many pieces dating back to 2016. I have exhibited my work in Boston, Massachusetts; Shanghai, China; the International Contemporary Art Show of Asia in Hong Kong in 2019; Rochester, New York; and Seattle, Washington. I enjoy creating original pieces that incorporate different styles, as I believe this gives my work a unique, layered appearance that is bold and attractive. Each painting carries positive meanings.

When I create a series of works, I start with a base color that represents a specific emotion—like "yellow for happiness" or, in a previous collection, "pink for love." I design the series around that color and its meaning. Currently, I am working on pieces aimed at pushing the envelope and inspiring hope. I can't wait to share my vision with you and the world.
